We all pray that you have highspeed. The initial download is small. The subsequent download is HUGE.

Yeah, I tried to download the client at a friend's house once. BIG mistake.

We started it at around noon.

We came back at 4 at it was still going...

I downloaded the client during the PvP event on a computer on the same (home) network as mine, at the same time that I was playing. Now, the whole thing took less than... ten minutes to complete. DSL, 200 kB/s limit, I believe... I dunno, but it didn't seem that large to me.

Oh, and by downloaded the client, I mean downloaded and installed and downloaded the engine and whatnot.

Or lost it after installing the game, but for whatever reason had to format their computer/drive.

LOL

downloading the client basicly means you are installing the entire game through your net connection. I recently reinstalled my game in this manner - downloading at a speed of 500kb/s, it took me 2 and a half hours to get the majority of the game installed.

10 minutes is a retarded estemation from someone that has no idea what the hell they are talking about.

Was brousing old threads, and just had to comment on this guys retarded asumption that the game can be dl'd in 10 minutes : p

Took me only 20 mins to enter Lions Arch after I installed the client on a 2nd computer, so its not like its taking hours.
But you'd have to download each new area you enter.

The download can be quite aweful. I had my download limited to 4Kb a sec when I had to redownload GW after a corrupted data problem. Took a whole weekend of entering each map and waiting for the load to clear and repeat......

Just burn a dvd with the data you have in your computer...
Every time you whant to play in a new computer or re-install just copy all data to hard disk and start the game by the .exe and the game will re-install alone... no downloads... only the lasts updates you lost by the time you make the backup...

I downloaded the client and was playing in under 20 minutes. If it took your 2.5 hours you were certianly not getting 500KB/s. Or you have a slow computer that took 2 hours to decompress everything.

Good call. I recently got a new PC and it took ages to DL all the updates. Not to mention, everytime I go to map I hadn't been to recently, it had to DL it all over again.

I made 2 back ups just incase, 1 in my other computer and 1 in another folder, just incase I accidently do something wrong with the current one that the game is running with. Download is not an option...normally.
